About Fairly Compared

An independent comparison site for the software small US businesses run on, starting with CRM.

Why this site exists

Search Google for "best CRM" and most of the top results are written by companies that sell a CRM, or software sold to the same buyers. We checked the top results for the five highest-volume "best CRM" searches in the US and classified every site: see who writes the lists. A vendor can write a fair article, but a buyer deserves to know who is talking.

Fairly Compared is not owned by, funded by or affiliated with any software vendor. We make money from affiliate commissions when readers sign up through some of our links, and we publish what every vendor pays, including the vendors that pay nothing.

What we promise

  • Dated facts with sources. Every price and plan limit links to where we found it and when.
  • Rankings computed, not negotiated. Scores come from a public formula that cannot read affiliate data. See the methodology.
  • No invented experience. We do not publish testimonials, star ratings or "we tested it for 30 days" claims we cannot back up. Hands-on tests are marked as pending until they are done.
  • We say when you don't need to pay. If a free plan, an open-source tool or a spreadsheet covers your case, we tell you.

What comes next

CRM is the first category. Point-of-sale systems, business phone (VoIP), accounting, payroll and project-management software follow, with the same rules.
